Rubberising/Polyurethane Bakkie Linings
The process of protecting the loading bay is by rubberising it with a seamless, hard-wearing, enduring polyurethane coating that is sprayed onto the surface with high-pressure equipment to form a long-lasting barrier. Most commonly applied to the load bins of light to heavy commercial vehicles (bakkies or trucks), which adds protection against wear, corrosion and light impact damage.
Having your load bay rubberised can protect loose goods from shifting around in the back of your bakkie as well as allow your beloved pets to have a better grip when being transported around. We coat in varying thicknesses, depending on the amount of wear you expect to experience, keeping in mind what you are using your bakkie for now and what you could be using it for in the future. Protecting your bakkie with a polyurethane lining, means you can use your bakkie for longer.
We offer rubberising on all makes of trucks and bakkies including long-wheel base (LWB) vehicles, double cab bakkies and half-ton bakkies. Ensuring the back of your bakkie is protected and made to last.
No preparatory work is required from the customer. If installed, we'll remove and replace any canopy, tonneau cover or roll bar. We may also scuff an existing lining to ensure that the new lining bonds well with the load bin.
Bakkie lining alternatives and mistakes
Originally, non-slip rubber mats were used. The mats don’t protect the load bin from chemical spills and sand may collect underneath the mat, exposing the bodywork to abrasion and rust. A polyurethane bin lining is far more durable and, once dry, becomes part of the loading bin. It requires almost nothing in the way of maintenance and makes for easy cleaning.
Important Notes on Polyurethane Bakkie Bin Linings:
There are cheap alternatives and Do-It-Yourself versions that just don’t last. We guarantee our quality workmanship and application. We use high grade quality polyurethane products.
Bakkie rubberising
Sprayed on two part component polyurethane is widely considered a far superior alternative to conventional waterproofing products. Our polyurethane product is applied with specialized machinery at your premises where the sprayed on product cures and bonds to the substrate within 30 seconds of the 2 components being mixed.
Polyurethane retains 100% memory and can expand up to 300% without degradation. There is no other waterproofing product on the market today that allows for a varying climate such as South Africa where constant expansion and contraction caused by the elements occur.
Conventional waterproofing methods are outdated and have been used since the days when it was still acceptable to install asbestos on your ceiling. These days with extended use of IBR roof sheeting, which is prone to rust and leaks, polyurethane will extend the life of your roof by at least a further 20-30 years, without any leaks.
We can apply our polyurethane waterproofing product to both new and old roof sheets. Its also known to reduce noise from rain, wind and hail by up to 70%. We can also apply the product in white to reduce heat to your property. The white will gradually fade to a cream colour over time, however we can apply a UV top coat to retain the bright white should you choose to do so.
Waterproofing
Polyurethane is best suited for high traffic commercial and industrial areas where both hygiene and protection of your premises and equipment is paramount. Once applied, polyurethane flooring is seamless and hard wearing to create a permanent bond between your existing floor, whether it be wood, concrete, tile, brick or metal.
We can apply the polyurethane flooring in any colour, simply provide us with either a pantone code or a sample of your preferred colour.
If the flooring will be applied outside, and UV protection is required we can apply a UV protective top coat to prevent discolouration. We have applied our polyurethane flooring to school bathrooms, sports fields, museums, busses, exhibition centres, truck load bins etc.
In the event of significant damage to the floor area, performing a repair is a simple process.
Our Polyurethane flooring has many benefits to offer which include:
Industrial floors have to often endure a lot of traffic on a daily basis, which is why we suggest using polyurethane to provide a long-lasting, hygienic flooring solution in commercial environments.
